RFID-protective cover
Reliable protection against unwanted access to personal data
The problem:
With the continuous spread of radio frequency identification systems (RFID), data theft has become very easy these days. Instead of obtaining physical possession or contact of the document for making illegal copies or for direct use, RFID permits information to be read wirelessly over a certain distance of up to several metres by means of quite simple technical equipment. The problem compared to previous forms of theft is that those affected do not realise that they have become victims of data theft. Thus unauthorised persons have sufficient time to work with the data.
Endangered areas:
- Works and company passes
- Tickets
- Customer cards
- Official identification documents
The solution:
Conventional encryption methods do not guarantee permanent protection and data required to generate a duplicate are not encrypted, but only have to be copied.
In order to prevent these circumstances, the material “Cryptalloy” was developed. This sophisticated alloy made from aluminium and other special metals efficiently suppresses communication between your document and any wireless reading device. Special feature: for obtaining efficient shielding, the RFID card does not even have to be fully enclosed by Cryptalloy (Faraday cage). A simple presence of this material in the immediate proximity (virtual contact) is sufficient.
This special property of “Cryptalloy” allows a wide range of applications like partially transparent card holders where information printed on the card still remains visible. Unlike other common shielding materials such as aluminium foil or zinc/copper plated foils, “Cryptalloy” provides full protection over the whole bandwidth of RFID frequencies so that your data really remains secure at all times.

Note
Customised designs and formats are deliverable on request.
Closures like snap fasteners, zips, velcros or adhesive closures protect the contains of your covers and pockets.
Loops, eyelets, magnetic strips and self-adhesive backs provide for several possibilities of attachment.
